How this site is built
This site practises what I propose to you. Here is how it is built.
Static pages
The site is generated by Hugo, open source software that turns text files into HTML pages. There is no database, no CMS, no extension to update. A page weighs a few tens of kilobytes and appears instantly.
Hosted in France
The pages are served by Caddy, an open source web server that handles HTTPS certificates on its own, from a server located in France.
Zero cookies, zero trackers
No Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, no fonts loaded from Google: the fonts are hosted on the site’s own server. No visit data leaves for a third party.
Versioned, like software
The content is stored in a Git repository. Every release corresponds to a numbered version, shown at the foot of the page: the server fetches it, builds it and publishes it with a single command. Rolling back to the previous version takes a few seconds, and if the server disappears, the site rebuilds identically.
This is exactly the managed site plan I offer my clients.
